M.W.Bro. John V. Egan III, G.M.
Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Colorado

John V. Egan, III was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1952. He moved with his family to Colorado in 1963. He attended the University of Colorado where he received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree and thereafter was licensed as a Colorado Professional Engineer. He also attended the University of Denver Law School where he received his Juris Doctor Degree. He was thereafter admitted to practice law in all Colorado State courts, all Federal Courts and the United States Supreme Court. Egan married Pamela J. McCoy in 1972. He has served as a County Attorney and is engaged in the private practice of Law. They have two daughters and seven grandchildren.

John V. Egan, III was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason in 1987. He was the Worshipful Master in 1995 and thereafter continued to serve his Lodge as its Secretary and Temple Association Director. He is a dual member in Puerto Vallarta Lodge No.34, Mexico York Grand Lodge, and a Plural Member with Black Hawk Lodge No.11. He is the Colorado Grand Lodge Representative to Occidental Grand Lodge of Mexico, York Grand Lodge of Mexico and Florida Grand Lodge.

Egan is a member of Denver Consistory and a Past Venerable Master of the Lodge of Perfection, El Jebel Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters Court 138, Unity O.E.S. Chapter No. 97, Denver-Colorado Commandery No I,Denver Council No.1, Denver Chapter No.2 , St. Bernard Commandery No. 41 and Florida Demolay Honorary King Solomon Chapter.

John V. Egan, III has served as Counsel for the Colorado Masons Benevolent Fund, as a Trustee and President of the Robert Russell Eastern Star Masonic Center, as a member of the Grand Lodge Jurisprudence Committee and Chairman of the Grand Lodge Committee of the Whole and as a Referee for Masonic Trials.

Egan is also an Eagle Scout and God and Country recipient, a private pilot, Past International President of Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity, a retired Volunteer fireman and Chief, a retired Posse Deputy Sheriff, a Church Elder, a Past Shooter of many invitational hunt organizations and member of winning 1998 Wyoming One Shot Antelope team with General Chuck Yeager and Col. Bud Anderson. He has also served on many non-profit Boards in Colorado and Wyoming.
